Terrorism

Terrorism is not limited to just acts of International terrorist groups, as seen on September 11, 2001; some terror acts can be domestic. From large scale acts of violence to local hostage taking situations, we should always be vigilant to the possibilities around us each day.

Though many of the homegrown terrorists identified in the United States—especially since the 9/11 attacks—have been Muslims, it is important to note that religious motivations are not present in all instances.

While response to an incident is critical, prevention of the act remains preferable. Antiterrorism (pre-incident) training involves preparation and response considerations in an effort to prevent violence from occurring in the first place.

Anderson County Emergency Services, along with local law enforcement personnel, routinely train to meet such a challenge in our community.
